Welcome to my blog!

My name is Monastery, but you can call me Monty.

I created this blog quite a while ago, but didn't end up doing much with it. I'm a bit too young to have spent much time on Livejournal, but I've always admired it (and spent a lot of time trawling it for icons, which I used on Tumblr). I'm more of a lurker than anything on other social media platforms, so blogging always felt intimidating, but I've recently realized that I'm tired of scrolling. If nothing else, this seems like the perfect place to document my personal projects... and more incentive to actually carry through with them.

I'm going to have to make a more organized sticky post, but here's a messy rundown of me and my interests:

Monty | late 20s | she/her | aspec lesbian

I have a partner and two gremlin cat-children.

I work a full-time job but in my spare time I stage manage for theatre and write for TTRPGs.

I just finished the biggest TTRPG project I've ever taken on -- which will be published in a real book that I can hold in my hands. Lifelong dream achieved!

I'm just about to start stage managing a show for a new company -- the last one was horrifically mismanaged and I can't wait to move on from it.

A lot of my life revolves around games -- I love TTRPGs and video games, of course, but I'll often just make up games to get stuff done during the day. My home group plays tons of Pathfinder and Delta Green. I care a lot for my characters -- I write about them nonstop. I'd like to post drabbles here -- backstory things, or things that sessions make me think of. I'm hoping there will be a little collection of character odds and ends here eventually. When it comes to video games, I'm currently playing Metaphor: Refantazio and loving every second of it. I'm a huge fan of Atlus JRPGs in particular -- SMT especially. I also love tactics games and puzzle games!

I used to perform Shakespeare professionally, and I love him to death. Someday, I hope I'll start a Shakespeare company in town -- free Shakespeare in the Park is peak Shakespeare to me.

I'm sure I've forgotten a lot, but you'll hear about it eventually. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
